The 79th Sagra del Peperone (Pepper Festival) is held in the Motta district of Costigliole d'Asti from 31 July to 3 August 2026, at the Campo Sportivo, Via Don Sonaglia (organised by Pro Loco Motta). The pepper market runs at the sports ground on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 19:00 to 23:00, with the food stand (stand enogastronomico) opening at 19:00 serving traditional dishes. On Saturday 2 August at 18:00 there is the prize-giving and opening of the 'peperone quadrato' (square pepper) market. Food theme by day: Friday grilled meats and fried frogs plus street food; Saturday and Sunday fried frogs 'alla mottese'; Monday grill under the stars. Free-entry live music each evening: Friday 31 July, the show 'Voglio tornare negli 90 anni' (the biggest '90s live show in Italy) plus Cordero and Electric Lab; Saturday 1 August, PG Alassi and Roberto Molinaro; Sunday 2 August, Gianmarco Bagutti Orchestra Italiana and Shary Band; Monday 3 August, Omar Codazzi.
