Cadgal ("house of the rooster") is a Moscato-focused Piedmont producer spanning two estates — Tenuta Valdivilla in the Langhe at Santo Stefano Belbo and Tenuta La Cova here in Calamandrana, between Nizza Monferrato and Canelli. La Cova's 25 hectares (nine of vineyard, the rest hazelnut orchard and woodland) sit in prime Barbera country in the heart of the Alto Monferrato.
The house is best known for bottle-aged Moscato d'Asti and Canelli DOCG (labels such as Lumine, Vite Vecchia and Sant'Ilario), alongside Asti Spumante and Barbera d'Asti, farmed regeneratively. Both estates run as "Wine Country Houses" offering immersive tastings and overnight hospitality; visits can be requested online, in Italian and English.
