Erede di Chiappone Armando is a family winery named for its founder, Armando Chiappone (born 1908), and now run by fourth-generation winemaker Daniele Chiappone. Its vineyards sit on one of the sunniest hillsides of Nizza Monferrato and are planted mainly to Barbera, including an old parcel of around sixty-year-old vines used for its Nizza wine. The range spans Nizza DOCG 'Ru', the Barbera d'Asti 'Brentura' and the Freisa 'Sanpedra'.
Daniele is widely credited as one of the growers who helped raise local Barbera quality and bring about the Nizza DOCG. Cellar visits and tastings are arranged by appointment; visitors give near-perfect scores.
